How it works
The custom-designed fuel tray maximises airflow, delivering a powerful blast of searing flame across the top of the oven. The 15mm cordierite baking stone absorbs and retains heat to produce crispy bases and properly cooked crusts. The insulated stainless steel body keeps heat inside the oven and reduces fuel consumption. To switch to gas, the Ooni Gas Burner attaches to the rear of the oven in minutes and is compatible with propane — the door must be removed and the chimney kept on during gas use.
Not just pizza
The Karu 12 is also suited to cooking steak, fish, vegetables and flatbreads at high heat. Use Ooni’s cast iron cookware range (sold separately) directly on the baking stone for full cast iron cooking.
